What a selection! There are more Christmas books for kids for you to choose from than you get different types of chocolate in a collection box.
As a writer of kids books and as a dad to two daughters, I’ve read plenty of kids books over the years. And Christmas is a great time to get youngsters excited about reading.
Books are a fun and educational present to give kids, full of colour and adventure. Plus, they get kids away from screens! And here’s a bonus for us adults – their solid, flat, square or rectangular shapes means they’re really easy for Santa’s helpers to wrap up!

A Christmas classic and no mistake, with a unique visual style and a story for the ages. Should top every kid’s Christmas list. And they can follow along when the TV adaptation is shown.
It’s got the snow and the famous character, and it’s bound to be on the TV at Christmas, along with the original story – The Gruffalo.
I can remember being thrilled with the idea of lift the flap books as a kid, and this is a great interactive book for curious kids who love pets.

A good way to teach your child the months of the year, this story is actually a Christmas story that can be enjoyed all year round. And yes, it’s one of mine!
